Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
Serves as a senior team member on a system testing team working with business/development units for various software projects. Analyzes business requirements, identifies test conditions and develops test cases with expected results that are approved by respective business units. Develops and executes manual and automated test cases, validates results and provides accountability to business units for accuracy and thoroughness of system testing and software certification tasks. Coordinates functional testing efforts with project team and identifies and documents defects in compliance with established procedures. Defines, develops and maintains test data and test data repositories. Supports the test environment and maintains application documentations.
Acts as a liaison between system development teams, vendors and/or business customers and assists management with the development of quality control standards and test plans. Supports/assists business customers in identifying project objectives, validating detailed business requirements, evaluating alternatives and defining project scope, objectives and resource needs related to testing/quality control activities for various software projects. Develops work plan estimates for moderately complex tasks to ensure work efforts are accomplished within time estimates. Identifies and documents defects in compliance with established procedures. Assists management with the development of quality control standards and test plans and adheres to and supports all Auto Club Group Quality Control standards, policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Selenium automation development experience a plus
Selenium automation execution experience a plus
Selenium automation keyword development experience a plus
Moderate to strong database skills a plus
Moderate to strong SQL query understanding and experience a plus
Knowledge and understanding of Testing processes and procedures
Experience in/with:
•An insurance environment
•Testing applications on multiple platforms
•Testing, working with or evaluating third party vendor packages
Knowledge of:
•Business requirements including corporate and industry policies, practices and procedures and Auto Cub Group applications, products and delivery systems
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):
College level Coursework or formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Quality Assurance or related field. Related Technology Certification or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience in/with:
•Automated testing tools, methodologies and defect tracking systems
•Evaluating business and functional requirements for software projects
•Developing, resolving problems with, maintaining and executing test plans and test cases for software projects
•Reviewing and evaluating business requirements
•Researching, identifying and resolving problems
•Developing re-usable documentation
•Analyzing test results for validity and correctness
•Utilizing PC software applications (e.g. Windows, Word, Excel, etc.)
•Operating systems (e.g. MVS, AIX, UNIX, LINUX, Windows)
•Software implementation and maintenance
•Developing and executing database (DB, Oracle)queries (SQL, SPUFI)
•Development and execution of manual and automated functional test cases
Knowledge of:
•Software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)
•Industry technology standards
•Testing tools, techniques and methodologies
•Structured quality control standards, procedures and test processes
Ability to:
•Evaluate business and functional requirements and understand the interdependencies between components
•Provide guidance and training to less technical staff
•Take initiative to explore alternative approaches to project tasks or existing processes
•Communicate clearly about technical topics
•Understand the customer perspective and effectively interact with representatives of various business units
•Quickly learn new processes and tools
Ability and willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends when required to meet project deadlines.
